In our last article, I mentioned crews had been busy at Busch Gardens Tampa this week with Falcon’s Fury. Along with installing the third tower section on Wednesday, crews also brought in the fourth section on site the same day. This week marks one of the busiest in terms of visual results – the fourth section is now installed!
By park opening time this morning, crews were busy bolting the newest addition onto the current tower structure. A short time later, the crane that has been used to hoist the first four sections into place was removing its counterweights. It is likely that the next big step at the Falcon’s Fury site will be to assemble the larger crane that will be used to place the remaining tower pieces into place. A number of those crane pieces can be seen on flatbed trailers in the auxiliary lot north of Adventure Island.
Check out some pictures from around the park, showing both the work being done this morning, along with views from different areas of what the tower is shaping up to look like.
Walls are now up around the airbrush art stand in Timbuktu, off to the left side of Desert Grill. This is the same stand workers were seen meeting at and discussing earlier this week (see the photo in the gallery below).
I spoke with Jeff Hornick, Director of Design & Engineering at Busch Gardens Tampa about Pantopia. He explained that more than just repainting the structures in Timbuktu, the area really will see a transformation with real attention to detail. He also confirmed a full renovation is coming to Timbuktu Theater.
